If you look at a tent from a production point of view, a tent is made up of main materials and accessories.
First of all, let’s look at the main material, the main material of a tent is generally composed of three parts, tent fabric, tent frame and tent floor fabric, some tents might have no floor, in this case tent fabric and frame made up the tent.
The fabric used for outer tent is generally made of polyester, oxford, nylon, cotton, canvas etc, usually has different functions by after finish coating, like watetproof, fireproof, uv-protection and so on.
For inner tent, breathable polyester, lower coating rate polyester, polyester mesh is used a lot.
For floor, PE, PVC, Oxford, polyester is used as floor a lot, some kinds of tents might have no floor, like toilet tent, some pop up beach tent. PE and PVC is cheap option, and oxford is expensive choice and usually made higher standard tent.
The second important part of the tent is the frame, tent frame generally have fiberglass poles, aluminum poles, steel poles, steel wire, PVC pipe, wooden poles, automatic tent frame and so on.
In addition, for most ordinary camping tents, the floor is generally made of PE, PE is cheaper choice for making floor, and the waterproof function is not bad.
In addition to the main materials, the rest is tent accessory, including zippers, webbing, tent pegs, guy ropes, plastic hooks such as S hooks, G-shaped hooks, metal accessories such as ping-pin stystem, eyelet, etc..
After all materials prepared, workers cut the fabric and sew each piece into a whole tent, and inspect extra thread, do seam taping if needed, then packed the tent, thus the tent finally can be ready to ship.
